A term used to describe a thief or someone who steals.
Ese presidente si que fué bien ratero.
That president was indeed a huge thief.
Ese tipo es un ratero, ya le robó a varios aquí.
That guy is a thief, he's already stolen from several people here.
No dejes tus cosas sin vigilancia, hay rateros.
Don't leave your things unattended, there are thieves around.
